Wedding Morning Advice

Maximise Your Time With Your Partner

Couples are often surprised by how little time they spend with their partner on their wedding day.

You could skip the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony and instead spend as much time as you can in the morning together.

This could be waking up together, having breakfast, going on a walk (or swim for costal weddings!) and maybe even getting ready together.

Or consider getting ready apart and doing a first look, so you can travel to the ceremony together and get some quality time in before the madness starts!

Food ideas for your wedding morning

Have Lots Of Snacks

You could be feeling nervous, so the idea of a heavy breakfast or lunch might not be so appealing.

Instead have lots of lighter options you can nibble at. Think chopped veggies & dips, cheese, crackers, toast, smoothies and fruit.

It’s important to get some food in you (particularly if alcohol is being consumed!) so having some bits you can snack on throughout the day is vital. And remember…avoid any staining items like turmeric, beetroot, etc.

And don’t forget to drink lots of water….once the wedding is underway it’s something you’re likely to forget!

Music for your wedding day

Have A Playlist Ready

Get the music going in the morning!

Make a playlist in the lead up to the wedding so you have your favourite tunes ready. You might want energising upbeat tracks to fuel your excitement, or perhaps calming atmospheric music to relax you.

If you’re having hair & make-up done you could be in a chair for a while, so some background tunes are going to help set the tone and keep you going.

Don’t forget to charge a speaker up ready to use!

Allow More Time Than You Need

I would add extra time onto every element of your wedding day INCLUDING the morning. Time passes so much more quickly and there’s often small things that will crop up throughout the day.

You want to allow plenty of time before your ceremony actually starts for everyone to be ready. An hour is a good chunk of time! It’s much nicer to sit and have a drink if you’re early, than be running around frantically if you’re late!

Advice for the morning of your wedding, Auckland New Zealand

Enjoy It!

The morning is often overlooked as just the preamble before the day really starts. However, it can be one of the most special times, since the anticipation of what’s to come is so exciting!

Get as much as you can ready the days/night before so you can make the most of the morning. A wedding day goes by so quickly…time can seem to vanish!

Don’t wish away those relaxing hours in the make-up chair, or the fun of running around a venue setting up tables with your mates (….hopefully not too much of that!). If you’re having a bridal/groom/wedding party, the morning is often the time you get to hang out and chat the most in the whole day. Enjoy it!
